How to install Kalay Home Smart Light Camera?

Screw-in the Kalay Home Smart Light Camera into the lamp holder to complete installation. If the lamp holder is installed too deep into the hole of the ceiling, press the button located on the device to retract the fixture.

Search for “Kalay Light Camera” on Google Play or the App Store to download the app.

Setup
What does the Kalay Home Smart Light Camera LED indicator light mean?

1) Green: Device is not yet connected to Wi-Fi internet
2) Blue: Device is connected to the Wi-Fi internet
3) Red: Device is updating its firmware. Please do not unplug the device until firmware process is complete, as it may cause firmware failure or damage to the device.

Unable to add a new device?

Please check the LED light indicator status and follow instructions on operating the device.
1) LED light indicator not on:
Please check to make sure the Kalay Home Smart Light Camera is installed correctly and the light switch is on.
2) LED light indicator is green:
Device is not connected to Wi-Fi internet. Please follow instructions on “Setup – Add a Device” in the user manual when adding a new device.
3) LED light indicator is blue:
Device is connected to Wi-Fi internet. To add a device, please scan the QR Code, attached on a card tag with the device, or use LAN Search. If you are still unable to add a device, please press and hold the reset button to restore factory settings before re-installing.

What is the difference between a device SSID password, device password, and Wi-Fi network password?

1) Device SSID password:
This is used during initial setup or setup after a device has restored to factory settings for iPhone only. When the LED indicator light displays green, please follow the steps on your app. Go to iPhone Settings, and select “wuucam” from a list of Wi-Fi network and enter the device password to connect your mobile to the device.
2) Device password:

This is the password for the Kalay Home Smart Light Camera. If you forgot your password, press the reset button on the device to restore factory settings. It is recommended that you change your password regularly.
3) Wi-Fi network password:

To establish connection with the Kalay Home Smart Light Camera during initial setup, please make sure to select the current Wi-Fi network that your mobile is connected to.

How to restore a device to factory settings?

Press and hold the reset button located on the device for about 4 seconds or until you hear a beep sound before releasing the button. At this time, the LED light indicator on the device should turn green. Once the device says, “The camera is ready,” this means the device has restored to factory settings.

A mobile phone can add up to 16 Kalay Home Light Camera devices.

How many mobile phones can access and view a single Kalay Home Smart Light Camera device at a time?

A Kalay Home Light Camera device can have up to 4 mobile phones access and view it at the same time.

What to do when you have forgotten the Device password?

Please check to see if another Kalay Home Light Camera user has changed the password. If you are unable to use the device, please press and hold the reset button to restore the device to factory settings.

What is the maximum storage capacity for the Kalay Home Smart Light Camera device?

The Kalay Home Smart Light Camera comes with a Micro SD Card that supports up to 64GB of storage for video recordings and photos.

What is an event clip? Where is the event clip stored?

Kalay Home Smart Light Camera has a PIR sensor that can detect abnormal event activity through when it senses motion. When an event is detected, the Kalay Home Smart Light Camera will automatically send an event notification and record the event 10 seconds before, plus 50 seconds during the event , and store the event clip to the memory card.

If I have more than one Kalay Home Smart Light Camera device on my app, how will I view the event clip when there is abnormal activity?

Open the Kalay Home Smart Light Camera app and select the Event button, which is located on the bottom right of the Dashboard screen. On the Event screen, select the device in the top by tapping on the down arrow, then choose the video you want to view for that device from the timeline below.

While using the Kalay Home Smart Light Camera app, can I zoom in on the video screen?

Open the Kalay Home Smart Light Camera app and select the device you want to view from the Dashboard screen to access live view. Zoom in on the live view screen by tapping on the video screen twice.

How can I turn off the event notification function?

Go to the Mobile Setting and select KalayLightCam app to turn off the notification function. Please note that once the notification is turned off, you will not receive an instant notice when something happens.
